Petey Week #2

trade for rabbit

I wonder if Petey would eat the dog. The dog wonders also.

This cartoon would make more sense if Petey were the one trading for rabbit meat. I mean, given an entire neighborhood to choose from, who would you trade with for rabbit meat? The guy who loves rabbit meat to the exclusion of a personality or anybody else ? That kid’s not going to get one Rabbit McNugget out of Petey for anything less than his eternal soul and five pounds of heroin.

wow! rabbit!

Oh, here’s the girl again. I don’t think she has a name. She likes rabbit too; she’s just not such a goddamned freak about it.

she loves meat

I like this one. Petey sits like Buddha in a beautiful pasture, devouring the souls of his enemies some rabbits and chanting. It’d look good as an icon.

  1. Box o' rabbit
I see that Petey purchases his rabbit meat by the box. But if that’s his box of rabbit meat, then what’s in the picnic basket behind him? More rabbit meat?

Also, the little girl in picture #2 is clearly Arthur from the PBS cartoon of the same name (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/arthur) wearing a dress and a wig in a poorly executed attempt to get at Petey’s fried rabbit meat.

The little boy in picture #1 appears to have duck wings instead of regular hands like you and I.

Day 2 of Petey Week is disturbing on so many levels. I shudder to think what days 3 through 5 hold.

  2. Petey is weird
I think Petey would have a fat lip and a bloody nose
because he is SO weird. I mean kids Petey’s age are
pretty ruthless about weirdos. But I do respect Petey
for just being himself. Wonder what he gew up to be?
