Umpqua Holiday Nog
Appearance: Bright light yellow. No visible flecks.
Taste: Hard to describe. It’s just basic egg nog, the kind they make in a vat in the Midwest and pipe all around the country. Nice nutmeggy aftertaste, no harsh artificial vanilla overtones like synthe-nogs are prone to.
Texture: A bit thin for egg nog – a little thicker than good chocolate milk.
Comments: One ingredient is “nog base.” There are no actual eggs. It’s also less fatty than the ones with real eggs, though. This variety comes in smaller containers, too. I guess the people with no friends don’t need high-fat egg nog.

Umpqua? Midwest?
I thought our good friends at Umpqua were based right here in the northwest… uh, i mean, up there in the northwest.
They were always my favorite tribe of Indians… sittin’ around, makin’ ice cream.
Midwest
Well, by “make in a vat in the Midwest” I was trying to explain how universal it was, not that Umpqua was actually based in the Midwest. They’re local.
I was thinking about egg nog, and I think the best way to eat it would be if someone made egg nog milkshakes or ice cream. If it went from being oddly thick to being out-and-out SOLID, it would be much less disturbing.
