New York Fun

A dream in which I am lost in New York City.

My sister Matie, Pop and I were in New York. It was dirty and evil looking. Perhaps it was New York from the near, gritty future, an urban wasteland. I only know what I see in the movies.

We didn't have anywhere to stay. We'd just come in on the train. In the train station there were lockers for rent. There were also refrigerators for rent, with the same small orange keys and coin slots. The refrigerators were cheaper, so Pop picked out one and we put most of our stuff in it. It was hard to do, because the shelves were welded in place and afforded little room for large bags. It was a stainless steel fridge. Very industrial.

We got a newspaper from a bench and looked at all the different musical plays that were being put on in New York. There was a musical version of Happiness that looked nice, but there was also a production of Springtime for Hitler, so we pretty much had to go to that instead.

It wasn't very good. The director had done it all arty, instead of funny. The songs were nice, though.

I should have checked to see if they had Zoo Animals on Wheels.
