He's trying to catch a large-mouth bass?
I think ... [2002-07-08 00:41:19]
... This is an exposition of the males as they relate to other males.
It takes some of the things men are afraid of the most, (Homosexuality, their own sexuality, the size of their dong, and actually talking about stuff.) and it uses them all to pose a wonderful freeze frame of our characters.

Their names are bill and fred, they've been through a lot together, when they were in nam, they fought together, bill saved freds life, they were best buddies. It only seemed right after the war they wouldlive in the same town, as neighbours, there wasn't much time the two veterans didn't spend together, doing one thing or another. As time passed, bill started thinking, fred had really meant a lot to him, he'd been there for him when he needed it, he was always there, but he was feeling emotions he was afraid of. Meanwhile fred had been thinking about bill, fred idolised bill he would do anything for the man that saved his life, they were happy together, he couldn't ever imagine being this close to someone before.
The next day the two chums went out fishing, and that was when bill and fred decided to make their true feelings known to each other. Bill said "Fred you know..." we've really been together a while, we've grown close but you mean more to me than that I.. I think I love you... Bill said and didn't say, Fred replied "Yes Bill ..." I know you've always been there for me I couldn't imagine ever leaving you I love you too.
Both men embarressed by their failures go silent. Bill decides he has to save this quick. Freds line starts to be tugged as he hooks a fish. "Looks like you got a big one there buddy", says Bill, Fred engrossed in what he's doing is confused, he still has confusing feelings running around his head, a fish on the end of the line, and a friend thats just said something, his mind takes over automatically and replys, "Thanks, but I really need to think about fishing now.

Right about now the universe diverges, into two different parrallel universe's one where Fred and Bill embrace in a pationate kiss and live the rest of their days in happy companionship, in the other bill just says "Good one Fred, and thats all that is said, eventually they drift apart as friends, they move back to their familys, and lose touch.

blah blah [2002-07-08 00:50:26] staniel
I think it's an illustrated double-meaning joke.
Sure is cold! [2002-07-08 01:47:31] Jacques Kitsch
Yeah, and deep, too!
just a joke? [2002-07-08 06:55:40] posthumous
maybe, but isn't Fred's rod beautiful?
Bending My Johnson [2002-07-08 07:21:52] Jacques Kitsch
I had heard that the term johnson originated with reference to fishing equipment. There's a band that plays here sometimes called The Red Hot Swinging Johnsons.

Afición [2002-07-08 15:11:16] DeWalt Russ
This comic reminds me of the fishing scene in The Sun Also Rises. Very Hemingwenzian.
Old Man and the Sea [2002-07-08 16:16:57] Jacques Kitsch
I like the scene in "The Old Man and the Sea" where the guys get their legs tangled-up in the spinaker and get towed all the way to Pamplona for the running of the squirrels.
Fish pee [2002-07-09 09:54:26]
Why I don't drink water is because fish pee in it.
Pee water [2002-07-09 17:16:17] Mikey
Yeah, I might have peed in it too. I can't quite remember if I did or not... I was pretty drunk at the time.
