More Hitler

Not that we've got a new theme or anything

Setting:
11th grade English class.  Mrs. G sits in front of the students discussing some fascinating (and probably incorrect) aspect of the English language that took place during the late 1930s.

Mrs. G: ...and at the same time in Europe, Hitler was starting to do his thing...

Sean (quietly to Anna): Doin' that Hitler thing.

Anna: Doin' that funky Hitler thing.

I believe Hitler started doing his thing in the 20s. By the late 30s his thing was peaking. But this is what one might expect of history from an English teacher.

Clearly Mrs. G was totally "with it."

everybody do the hitler [2007-08-09 02:20:21] Andrew
we should start a movement to offically refer to hitler as shitler from now on. I mean the guy deserves it. and also what is it about highschool teachers that they'll believe any linguistic antiqudote no matter how wrong it is.
Do the what? [2007-08-09 02:26:22] Antwan
Excuse me but who is this "Hitler" you speak of?

Hitler's thing. [2007-11-08 18:23:21] Magnanimous
So in keeping with the slang theme I must ask-Hitler was "doing" his own "thing"? That sounds like a physiological impossibility...
I would love to have you in my class. [2008-04-19 03:41:50] Shelt
I think it would be a kick to see just how well you learn.
